Scenic Route driving directions needed from SE Wisconsin to Ft. Knox KY? I live in SE Wisconsin 20 miles west of Racine. I need driving directions to Elizabethtown KY near Ft. Knox. leaving Tues. July 22nd if anyone could help. My son is Cav Scout and has family weekend in Ft. Knox 7/25/08.I wish to avoid bigger cities like Chicago, Indianapolis and Louiseville. If thats not possible, I need help help getting out of the cities and back on old 41.Not real good with heavy traffic. Would like to take scenic route and take my time. My dad use to drive us to Ky taking old US 41. I tried mapquesting that and it keep taking me off of 41. Would like a nice road trip with pretty scenery. Somebody got a decent car for sale? Im stranded!? I am located right outside of Louiseville, KY in a town called LaGrange. It seems to have a lot of commercial stuff but there are no bus stops and no taxi cars in sight. I am staying at a hotel and I asked around, (including the teller at the hotel) and she told me that most ppl here walk or have a car. Man this situation sucks! Anyway, I jumped on craigslist and tried to find a vehicle to purchase but there is no one who is willing to bring the car to me for purchase. I called the airport and they told me that they don't provide service unless you are flying. I thought it was a train or something in town bc I saw train tracks but it is mainly for a tourist attraction. I am basically out of options. So if you got any suggestions that would help me let me know. For the record, I was on my way to Alabama from Detroit and my trans started to slip. I was able to get to a mechanic and as soon as I pulled in the lot of the business, trans fluid went everywhere. The guy was nice enough to bring me to the nearest hotel and here I have remained. Please don't suggest calling family cause I don't have any that I can locate. Long story. Any suggestion please.
